During my undergrad, I was a violinist in the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra and was the Music Director of the Oak Ridge Youth Symphony Orchestra and Summer Conservatory.

Northwestern University's Orchestral Conducting program is one of the best in the country, and my major professor was Mr. Victor Yampolsky, Director of Orchestras at NU. While in Chicago, I taught at the Merit School of Music Conservatory.
Artist Diploma in Violin Performance

Focusing on violin performance for two intensive years, I performed with the University of Tennessee orchestra as the Concerto Competition Winner, Concertmaster of the Orchestra, and Assistant Conductor.
PhD in Music Education and Conducting
Aug 2014 - May 2017
Essentially a dual degree, my doctorate combined my two favorite aspects of music: teaching and conducting. I was the Assistant Conductor and Head Librarian for the Florida State University Orchestras, and Instructor for Orchestra Conducting Classes.

Dr. Rachel performs with professional orchestras and music festivals across USA & Europe, including 8 years as the Assistant Conductor and Violinist with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, Director of the Missouri Symphony Conservatory, Conductor of the Merit School of Music Junior Symphony, and as a Violinist in the Knoxville Symphony. Dr. Rachel has taught over a thousand students as a music director of youth orchestras and as a private instructor on violin, viola, cello, ukulele, and piano!
